Every week on the podcast we’ll share some of the local events that are taking place in the area. So many great people doing great things – be sure you get out to support them!
Here are this week’s events:
The Metcalfe Fair is coming up so soon! I can hardly wait. October 3 to 6, Metcalfe Fair is on the way. Early bird tickets are on sale now, just $30 for a weekend pass.
Harvest for Hospice is taking place at the Kemptville Campus Greenhouse on Thursday night from 4 pm to 7:30 pm. More than 40 vendors will be taking part, and there is entertainment and food too! The event is put on by Beth Donovan and is free to attend, with donations appreciated.
One World Bazaar opens this week! September 19th is the first day! They are open weekends, typically Thursday to Sunday, until November 17th, located on Mitch Owens Road at Manotick Station Road.
Hockey is back! Ottawa Senators are playing the Leafs twice this week in pre season action. You didn’t think I was going to not talk about hockey on this podcast, did you?
The Lot outdoor market in Manotick, located in the old Lindsay and McCaffrey parking lot on Manotick Main Street. It runs from 10 to 4 on Saturdays.
Every Sunday, you can find the Summer Bakery Booth at the Swan on the Rideau in Osgoode, featuring Wyngaarden Pastries and Bread starting at 11 am.
Metcalfe Farmers Market takes place every Saturday at the Metcalfe Fairgrounds from 9 am to 1 pm until mid October.
The Greely Good Market is open every Sunday on Bank Street near Mitch Owens. The address is 5770 Bank Street. And the market runs from 10 till 2.
Featured Upcoming Events: Osgoode Township Fish Game and Conservation Club’s Trap Shoot is this weekend on Saturday September 21st. Members should contact the club to register. It’s also open to non-members but there are limited spots available. The shoot is taking place just outside of Metcalfe.
And as I mentioned last week, Girls Night Out is taking place at the Lighthouse Collective at the former Helens/River Bend Pub in Osgoode on Wednesday October 23rd. Tickets will be on sale soon. Not only will we get together for food and drinks, but Erin Eldershaw will be performing her one woman play called Cue: Motherhood. You do not want to miss this show. I saw her perform it in Montreal and I told her that ALL women need to see it. We laughed, we cried, we sympathized, and we even got angry! Erin shares the struggles that women have faced in their career, with their health, with fertility, and with motherhood, and much more. No matter what you are, all women really do need to see this show.
Have a great week!

Grandma’s Letter
Thank you Tracey…I really enjoyed yesterday’s podcast. You’re a great story teller.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that!
Where did my apron go? 😂 It’s just great o hear all the news old and new! Love it 🥰
Ha ha, we’ll have to get you a new one – a crayon apron!
I know, I am a week behind, but I enjoyed the podcast this week. It reminds me about how my grandma and I used to joke about checking the family tree before dating anyone.
Too funny Krista! Owen asked the same sorts of questions ha ha. At the Family Ball Tournament I would tell him ‘no one in a green shirt’!!
