Every week on the podcast we’ll share some of the local events that are taking place in the area. So many great people doing great things – be sure you get out to support them!

Here are this week’s events:

Every Monday there is euchre at the Osgoode Legion, starting at 6:30 pm – come on out, singles, doubles, everyone is welcome. Darts on Tuesday and Bingo on Thursday too.

Greely Legion hosting their monthly euchre tournament starting at noon. It’s on the second Saturday of every month and the next one is Jan 11. Then Feb 8 Mar 8, Apr 12, May 10

Jan 8 – Scribbling Seniors is starting up again on January 8th and runs till Feb 26th, on Wednesdays. If you are looking to add some creative flair, join this group to write, create, socialize and learn.

Jan 9 – Osgoode Village Garden Club is meeting at the Osgoode Community Centre at 7 pm. They will be discussing their meeting plans and agenda for the coming year and collecting membership fees which are $10 year.

Jan 9 – Greely Gardeners Group is having their January general meeting on the 9th of January at the Greely Community Centre, and this month’s speaker is master gardener Mary Shearman Reid who is talking about vertical gardening – vines and trailers. Tickets are available online for that event. The Greely Gardeners are also seeking members at large – if you are interested in gardening, get in touch with them.

Jan 10 – The ATV club that is looking at expanding the current ATV trail network. They have an online survey to collect your feedback and opinion that is online until January 10th. You can view the existing and proposed trails in maps that are available online as well. The trail goes all through our area already but the proposed expansion serves primarily to connect the trails in ward 20 Osgoode to the other trails in the OFATV clubs and to improve access to the villages.

Jan 11 – The Osgoode Kars United Church is hosting their next community breakfast on Jan 11th starting at 8 am. Scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausages, baked beans and more- a freewill donation is accepted.

Jan 14 – Osgoode Outreach is a group for independent adults age 55+ from Osgoode and surrounding communities. They are hosting their first lunch of the year on the 14th. $10 per person for lasagna and salad. They meet weekly at the Legion in Osgoode at 10 am, and they have activities and discussion groups.

Youth Associations:

Teen Drop in Grades 7 to 12 at OYA on Main Street every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. See their website for details.

Free Youth Drop In at G-YA Mondays. Open to youth in Greely grades 7 to 12 at Greely Community Centre, see their Facebook page for details.

YOMA Pre Teen Night and Youth Drop In on Fridays at the Community Centre. 6:30 for pre-teens and 7:30 for teens.
