Osgoode Community Chronicles - November 26, 2024

Every week on the podcast we’ll share some of the local events that are taking place in the area. So many great people doing great things – be sure you get out to support them!

Here are this week’s events:

Every Monday there is euchre at the Osgoode Legion, starting at 6:30 pm – come on out, singles, doubles, everyone is welcome. Darts on Tuesday and Bingo on Thursday too.

Nov 27 and 30th are calls for auditions for the Russell Association of the Performing Arts. Their upcoming play is called The Siegel, a comedy.

Nov 30 Osgoode Township Fish Game and Conservation Club Wild Game Potluck Dinner 6 pm to 11 pm, silent and live auctions $20 per ticket.

Nov 30 Ignite the Night ATV Ride second annual fall night ride hosted by the Nation Valley ATV Club. $40 per person includes a meal, door prize ticket and a guided ride. Starts at 4 pm. Valid OFATV membership or day pass is required to take part.

Nov 30 Spencerville WHO Ville – A night of festive fun – Night market from 4 pm to 8 pm, visit with Santa and photo sessions at 4 pm, crafting with Mrs. Claus at the same time, live choir performance, and horse and wagon rides. Such a fun event.

Nov 29-30 Christmas in the Village Manotick  6pm Friday night is the parade of lights at 7 pm and community tree lighting, and on Saturday there are activities all day starting at 9 am with breakfast with Santa at Millers Oven, santa’s workshop, wagon rides, lunch with the grinch at the Black Dog Bistro, and more.

Dec 1 and Dec 8 – Kars RA Christmas Market. There will be a variety of vendors on each day of the markets. There is no admission fee however they are collection donations of food or cash to the North Gower Outreach Food Bank.

Dec 5 Christmas Road Trip by Seniors Community Services is off to see Miracle on 34th Street at Upper Canada Playhouse, Morrisburg. Tickets are $70 per person and include your transportation, buffet lunch and matinee performance of the show.

Dec 5 The County Lads are playing at the Russell Legion 7 pm, tickets $20 in advance (going fast). They also have bid euchre every Friday at the Russell Legion, starting at noon.4`        q         

Dec 6 &7 Christmas in the Village in Osgoode – including breakfast with Santa (Tony and I are cooking!), parade of lights, tree lighting ceremony, ugly Christmas sweater party and more.

Dec 6 & 7 Oh So Goode choir presentation of ‘Lost Christmas Eve’ concert

Dec 7 Russell Community Christmas Market from 12 pm to 4 pm at the Russell Arena

Youth Associations:

Teen Drop in Grades 7 to 12 at OYA on Main Street every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. See their website for details.

Free Youth Drop In at G-YA Wednesdays. Open to youth in Greely grades 7 to 12 at Greely Community Centre, see their Facebook page for details.

YOMA Pre Teen Night and Youth Drop In on Fridays at the Community Centre. 6:30 for pre-teens and 7:30 for teens.
