Here is a link to the comedy bit from Sebastian Maniscalco that I referenced in the Mental Health Moment segment: Doorbell. So funny (and sadly kind of true!)

Colin Campbell’s grave marker at Springhill Cemetery
Do you have any information about the spur line that ran east from near the current OYA center toward the the old dump just west of Blanchfield Rd.. There used to be a stockyard near Main St.
There might be something in the files I have but I haven’t seen anything yet – I would suggest getting in touch with the Osgoode Township Museum as they may have some information. If I come across any I can let you know though!
I checked with the Archives at Vernon last summer and nothing.
I think that perhaps aerial photos from many years ago would show the spur line. At some point they were likely removed.
Thanks for your suggestion. Very much appreciated.
Ken
Another great episode. I will try and set my parents up to listen this.
That would be fabulous! It is very easy to listen right on the website, there is a player on each post.
I sent many references about Osgoode and area to the Osgoode Township Museum and Archives that I culled from the ‘Ottawa Citizen’ specifically the ‘Old Time Stuff’ series that was published between 1923-1939.
Give me a call at 613-826-3119 (5630 Marlene Cr.)
That’s terrific, Ken! Glad they are where they should be. I’ll give you a call after the holidays.
