Every week on the podcast we’ll share some of the local events that are taking place in the area. So many great people doing great things – be sure you get out to support them!

Here are this week’s events:

Teen Drop in Grades 7 to 12 at OYA on Main Street every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. See their website for details. This week Carley’s in the kitchen making nachos!

Free Youth Drop In at G-YA Wednesdays. Open to youth in Greely grades 7 to 12 at Greely Community Centre, see their Facebook page for details. They are still looking for parents to volunteer to run the drop in nights.

YOMA Pre Teen Night and Youth Drop In on Fridays at the Community Centre. See their Facebook page and newsletter to join. They are looking for a facilitator and a junior facilitator.

October 31 Pop by to daytime trick or treat at the Osgoode Museum in Vernon.

Nov 1 Last call for tickets for the Flavors of Fall Buffet at Metcalfe Golf Club Roast Butternut Squash Soup, Hickories Famous Roast Beef au Jus, Whole Roasted Maple Soy Glazed Salmon, Salads, Desserts including pies, cakes and crème brulee $47/person reservation contact Golf Club

Nov 2 – Women’s Day is taking place in Manotick. Pick up your postcard at participating shops and have it stamped at each location you visit for unique promotions along the way. Runs from 10 till 4. Get your feet on the street.

Nov 2 at noon Pumpkin Smash at the Osgoode Museum. Bring your Halloween pumpkin to the museum to smash and enjoy some museum-made refreshments. The pumpkin pieces will become compost for the museum’s heritage garden.

Nov 2 WDMH Foundation is hosting their second annual all star hockey game event. NHL celebrities and fundraising, what’s not to love! There are lots of fun activities. Admission is $35 for adults and $15 for kids 6 to 12. They also have a VIP level that gets you a meet and greet with the players with refreshments after the game. Liam Maguire is hosting what is sure to be another awesome event.

Nov 2 – Winchester Shop Crawl 9:30 am to 4 pm Pick up a passport at your first stop, and get it stamped at each location for your entry into the grand prize draw. You’ll also get exclusive specials, savings and giveaways by participating.

Nov 6-9 Russell Association for the Performing Arts presents The Psychological Thriller BURN on Nov 6 to 9 at Russell High School. Tickets available online.

Nov 8 to 17 ITR Show Calendar Girls, 9th dinner show. The first Sunday matinee is sold out but tickets are still available for all other shows. You can also pick up a calendar girls calendar as part of a fund raiser for Bruyere Health. You can purchase your calendar at Manotick Office Pro in Manotick or at The Kitcheness in North Gower
